Chondroitin Sulfate

Molecular Structure of Active Ingredients:
Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium consists mostly of the sodium salt of the sulfate ester of N Acetyl Chondrosamine(2-acetamido-2-deoxy- -D-galactopyranose) and D-glucuronic acid copolymer. These hexoses are alternately linked -1,4 and -1,3 in the polymer. Chondrosamine moieties in the prevalent glycosaminoglycan are monosulfated primarily on position 4 and less so on position 6.

Functions:
Chondroitin’s functions depend largely on the properties of the overall proteoglycan of which it is a part. These functions can be broadly divided into structural and regulatory roles. However, this division is not absolute, and some proteoglycans have both structural and regulatory roles (see versican).
Chondroitin sulfate is a major component of extracellular matrix, and is important in maintaining the structural integrity of the tissue. This function is typical of the large aggregating proteoglycans: aggrecan, versican, brevican, and neurocan, collectively termed the lecticans.
As part of aggrecan, chondroitin sulfate is a major component of cartilage. The tightly packed and highly charged sulfate groups of chondroitin sulfate generate electrostatic repulsion that provides much of the resistance of cartilage to compression. Loss of chondroitin sulfate from the cartilage is a major cause of osteoarthritis.

Applications:
1. As a health food or health care drugs, Chondroitin Sulfate is used to cure coronary heart disease, angina, myocardial infarction, coronary atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia and other diseases in the long-term, no obvious side effects, can significantly reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease and mortality. Clinical application of long-term found that the walls of arteries and veins of fat, such as lipid deposition can be effectively removed or reduced to a significant reduction in plasma cholesterol, thus preventing atherosclerosis formation.
2. Chondroitin Sulfate for the treatment of neuralgia, nerve migraine, joint pain, arthritis and scapular joint pain, and abdominal pain after the operation.
3. To prevent and treat hearing impairment which caused by streptomycin and a variety of noise-induced hearing difficulties, tinnitus effectively.
4. It can aid in healing chronic nephritis, chronic hepatitis, keratitis and corneal ulcer,etc.

Packing & Storage:
Pack in paper-drums and two plastic-bags inside. Net Weight: 25kgs/paper-drum.
1kg-5kgs plastic bag inside with aluminum foil bag outside. Net Weight: 20kgs-25kgs/paper-drum.
Store in a well-closed container away from moisture and light.

Shelf Life:
2 years if sealed and store away from direct sun light.
